The blazing guitar work of Charles Laurita, along with Riley Byrne's solid bottom and masterful percussions by Joe Ketterer lit up Asbury Park's Stone Pony on September 7.
One excited Pony staffer remarked "these guys are unbelieveable, they played Santana, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Johnny Cash and their own original!"
The crowd roared to life with their first song, Lil Sister and continued to scream their approval as the band performed Evil Ways, Red House, Sweet Dreams, N.I.B. and Beat It.
They also played their first original, The Sky is Falling Down. This driving rock tune unveiled a new dimension- this band can compose music too.
Hillhurst's unique approach to cover songs and their developing originals are proving to be a winning combination.
